We have an active Kapahaka group, as well as an active choir. The choir and kapahaka perform  regularly at assemblies and community events; including the annual school gala.

Guitar, and brass lessons are available either during school or after school hours.

Twice a year we celebrate and reflect on our learning with the community with a whole school event. Past events include; a whole school production, festival of dance, school concert.

Health and Physical Education are also proactively taught to ensure fitness and physical activity is valued. Both Education outside the classroom and community involvement is a high priority when designing powerful learning experiences. It is important to us that children have a range of sporting opportunties.

Children are encouraged to be active at lunchtime by joining a game with our ‘physical activity leaders’ (PALS). Teachers also take a range of sports at lunchtime including netball, 2 ball soccer, swimming (weather permitting) or other traditional games. Supervised skateboarding and scootering is also available once per week.

In and out of school opportunties are advertised in the fortnightly newsletter or on the sports boards. Click here to read the  Springlands School Sports Overview
